Hill Country in Sri Lanka

The Hill Country of Sri Lanka is a world away from the rest of the island with its beautiful high mountains with rolling lower slopes carpeted with lush green tea and valleys with cascading waterfalls and meandering rivers flowing in between. This region encompasses tourist places of Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Knuckles Range and Hatton. Nuwara Eliya is known as the tea capital with colonial buildings wrapped in chilly climate.

Knuckles Range is famed for its beautiful scenery and rich biodiversity making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is popular for hiking and trekking. Ella is popular among backpackers with its quaint little town amidst beautiful hills making it ideal for hiking. Hatton is widely recognized as the crucial centre of Sri Lanka’s prominent tea industry due to numerous significant tea plantations.
