Overview

This sailing excursion allows you to explore the coastline with sheltered bays and coves, giving a glimpse into the past by witnessing the spiritual and significant Koneswaram temple; plenty of swimming, paddle boarding and more along the calm blue waters; thrilling snorkelling experiences among corals and amazing marine life at Pigeon Island. This excursion will sail to the gorgeous bay resort of Pasikuda where you could enjoy water activities. The season for this cruise is from May to October.

Day 1 – Sail at Koddiyar Bay in Trincomalee. Get on board the catamaran at Dutch Bay in Trincomalee at 4pm and set sail to Koddiyar Bay where you would see the mighty Koneswaram Temple, an ancient Hindu temple sitting atop the Swami rock. End the evening with a view of the gorgeous sunset whilst sipping a drink along with dinner served on-board. You can swim or paddle board in this bay. Overnight stay at Back Bay sheltered by the temple.

Day 2 – Sallitivu Island. Enjoy some snorkelling early morning before breakfast and embark on a sail of 3 hours passing Trincomalee in search of the marine giants – whales and dolphins. Arrive for lunch served onboard at Elephant rock which is at the entrance of the Trincomalee harbour. Plenty of free time for swimming, paddle boarding or snorkelling. Continue sailing to Sallitivu Island arriving at sunset and dinner. Overnight stay at point of anchorage.

Day 3 – Pasikuda Bay. Sail continues the south where you would pass expansive white sandy untouched beaches reaching the beautiful and stunning bay of Pasikuda, an exciting place for water activities. Enjoy the full day revelling in the joy of swimming in the shallow waters, snorkelling and other water sports. Lunch and dinner will be served on-board.

Day 4 – Illantattunu. Experience an early morning swim with the sunrise at Pasikuda. After breakfast, will sail to Illantattunu point, a spot for snorkelling and paddle boarding. Have lunch on-board and set sail for Lankapatuna. Upon arrival at Lankapatuna near Kuchchaveli at sunset, have dinner then overnight stay.

Day 5 – Kuchchaveli. After an early breakfast, explore along the full day at the beach of Kuchchaveli, the area is also known as Jungle beach. Enjoy swimming along the shores and some paddle boarding. Lunch will be served on board and be treated to a scrumptious dinner of seafood served under the stars.

Day 6 – Pigeon Island National Park, Nilaveli. After breakfast, sail back up north towards Nilaveli for 1.5 hours where you would also sight some whales and dolphins along your way. Pigeon Island is well known for its exotic and rich coral reefs surrounded by schools of tropical fish and other species of aquatic life; therefore it is the most popular spot for snorkelling. Have lunch off coast at Pigeon Island and enjoy the rest of the day snorkelling and swimming.

Day 7 – Return to Back bay for an early morning swim, followed by breakfast. Afterwards, a brief sail back to Dutch Bay in Trincomalee for disembarkation at 10am.
